when you fix the red ring of death do the washers have to be nylcon?

i have 16 #10 flat washers metal,,for the red ring of death (x-clamp) fix. they say i should use nylon but will it make a difference with metal?

if it doesn’t cause nothing to short out i’m sure it’s fine.
